He developed the delivery retention method “FaCTTS©” which is responsible for the high success rate of his workshop participants and the benchmark of 1000% return on investment for his clients.

He co-authored the booklet "Ask or Tell - the power of asking or the force of telling" - a very popular resource for his clients containing over 200 categorised leadership questions.

He authored the workbook "The Wheel of Effective Leadership Behaviour"

David Deane

He is a contributing author of "You Lead and They'll Follow" Volume 3, published by McGraw-Hill.

He has written numerous articles on his topics and is listed by the major search engines as a global leader in Attitudinal Competence.

He is a past president of WA chapter of the National Speakers Association of Australia and a member of the Open Space Institute of Australia. He is a past director and advisor to the board of the WA No Interest Loans Service "WANILS", a government funded community development initiative, whose board is recognised as a leader in governance of not-for-profit organisations.

He has more than 30 years operational experience in military, law-enforcement and commercial leadership. He is a graduate of both military and law-enforcement leadership academies.

David is an internationally trained NLP (“neuro-linguistic programming”) Master Practitioner and Open Space Technology facilitator, and is a military-trained performance coach. He is a Reiki Master and a reasonable didgeridoo player!

His last Army posting was second-in-command of the Royal Australian Military Police School. He led a covert operations team of the former Australian Narcotics Bureau (now merged with the Australian Federal Police), and later led a Task Force in the same organisation.

He has served as a company director and CEO in Australia and overseas, including publishing, medical equipment manufacturing, bio-chemical manufacturing, microbiological research and development. He has chaired a professional dance company and has been an executive producer of son-et-lumiere.

Consulting to CEO's for Leadership Behaviour Development in their Organisation.

David's skill and passion for designing and implementing experiential results-based leadership behaviour development, specific to the organisation, has been honed over many years, from program design in the military, through to designing graduate and C-suite leadership programs for clients.

"I'm determined to transform leadership development from the mediocrity of compliant theory into practical measurable behavioural improvements that deliver strong returns to the organisation.   Frankly, I'm challenging the status quo offered by most leadership development that are mainly management processes and theory that doesn't translate effectively for the business.  A certificate built around bureaucratic accreditation just doesn't cut it in the real world."

"I'm harnessing my experience as a leader and leadership trainer for very difficult situations, into experiential measurable embedding into my clients' workplace - where it matters most.  The results are not just better leaders, but also the workplace has measurably improved because of their development."

David partners with the CEO's in this consulting, not the HR or Training & Development staff - because the CEO is the chief talent officer and the buck stops with him or her.   HR and Training & Development are very important support, but the direction and primary partnering input must come from the most senior leadership.

If the CEO delegates this role to others, then the client is not compatible with Metattude.

"I know that may eliminate some potential clients, but we can't serve everyone.  We draw the line where the CEO is not prepared to go first and be primary partner with Metattude in developing their future leaders."

Facilitator of the Senior Leaders Round Table

Responding to the need for the senior leaders to be the primary high performing team and role model for their people, David created the format for the Senior Leaders Round Table (SLRT).  His experience as a senior leader, and his expertise as a facilitator/moderator make him an ideal person to manage the SLRT for his clients.

Co-founder and director of performance services at Integrated Executive Health (IEH)

Together with his colleague Dr Nathan Francis, he recently formed the health and performance service for busy executives and professionals. IEH is an online mobile-friendly membership service, where members can access expert medical/health and executive performance help, wherever they are.
